Romain Collaud

Art Director

Romain is a graphic and interaction designer, researcher and educator. He has a BA in visual communication from ECAL and an MAS in Design Research for Digital Innovation from the EPFL+ECAL Lab. His research interests include human-computer interaction with a social approach, semiotic studies, and perceived aesthetics.

He works as an art director, project manager and design lead on several projects at the lab, ranging from strengthening social ties to valorizing cultural heritage. He imagines seemingly simple design systems to provide access to complex data environments. He developed and oversees the user research methods academic module and the studio projects.

He also teaches digital prototyping and UX principles to ECAL and EPFL students.
